I'm craving Spring like everyone I assume.
Which had me thinking of some of my favorite Spring "go to's" and a few new things I am completely obsessing/crushing over.
To start (and probably the most ridiculous), I am freakishly addicted to...Just Dance
I played it for the first time with my son and daughter on Little Einstein's birthday. I beat each child once!!!!! Never in a million years did I think I could, the have all the just dance games and love playing them, and they stomped me over an over. I probably shouldn't be so giddy over beating each child one time, but trust me when we play video games IT NEVER HAPPENS...I suck but enjoy playing. Finally winning kind of gave me boost that I could get back in there and lose the next three years. It's silly, fun and a workout (there is even a workout mode), I was sweating with my heart pounding after 6 songs and was ready for more. The funniest part was the video my children took of me "just dancing" I'll admit it was funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnny and slightly hard to watch. If you haven't played, send the children to school and get to dancing. Then surprise them when they get home. Again FUNNY!

It's no secret that I'm always carrying a drink with me, diet coke, starbucks, water...something! The perfect cup to do that is with out a doubt a Tervis Tumbler ($24). Their customizible feature is extremely easy to use and who doesn't love a personlaized gift.

Sailcloth totes, this one is from 44 knots (made from 100% recycled sailcloth) and I think it would make the perfect spring/summer tote. I love the water and being out on the boat, so the anchor is perfect. This will defineitely be our grab bag for this sun and water season. I still love our LL Bean boat and totes but I'm ready for a little update and change. This seems like the perfect mix of classic and current, it's 21" wide by 14" deep and $165.

I have a gigantic crush on Alexis Bittar jewelry, and this necklace is at the top of my list for this spring, not to mention a few rings and earrings. It's all very pretty, a little edgy and modern but not to over the top. Gorgerous!!! My favorite pieces are the rings...but oohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh that necklace (about $195).

One of my new favorite online sources to shop is www.waitingonmartha.com
Love the selection, it's completely NOT boring or something that has been done a million times. Fresh, fun and easy to find. They have a little bit of everything for all occassions. The quote tray above is $54, and I love the statement..WHY NOT!!!
 Check 'em out.
Another www.waitingonmartha.com find, a super cute zebra tray (available in other colors and a great steal at $24).

Last item I'll ooodle over from www.waitingonmartha.com is this precious Raspberry Recipe binder. I love it, but I am huge dork and keep my recipes extremely organized, right down to binder just for taking with us on trips, the lake, friends, etc... GEEEEEEEEEEEEEE I can't remember everything, I had to make a smaller go to book, this one's not price to bad at $48.

No big news on this one, just wanted to say I love my ipad. I wish I could gift it to all my BFF's.

If you are new here, then a quick side note - I LOVE jewelry.
This is necklace is new for Spring at J Crew. Every girl needs a new statement necklace for the the spring.
www.jcrew.com (I think it's about $128)

Who doesn't love white jeans? They are basically my uniform. White, white, white...jeans, shirts, roses, linens, bed, slipcovers, towels,etc... I love white. The weird exception to my love of white is shoes. I hate white shoes, on my feet anyway. I'm trying to over come my white shoe issue.

I take a blanket with us...everywhere. Someone is always cold or one of the children are falling asleep in the car, etc... This throw can me made in tons of color combo's and of course you can change the initals (or add a monogram, last name, etc). Check out www.butterscotchblankees.com  (throw size $140)
This would make a perfect gift for ANYONE!

I'm in Galveston this week and while tooodeling around town I stopped in my tracks to drool over these lamps. They are incredible, beyond show stopping and would look fabulous in any room, but the perfect spot would be my bedroom. I'll have to start saving my pennies, each lamp is $600. I'm going back tomorrow to drool some more.

I've been crushing on the Celine bag foreverrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and still am.
But, this Tiffany tote is pretty and a bit more affordable (about $800). The color is beautiful,  it looks like when you reach inside a perfect piece of jewelery should magically appear.  This SHOULD be my spring bag. REALLY

Sandals scream spring and summer and make it a wedge and I am sold! These Vera Wang Lavender sandals are at the top of my list for spring. I love the gold and snake skin. There not to wild or strappy, basic but modern. I likie!!! You can find them at Neiman Marcus and slightly under $300.

What are some of your Spring/Summer must haves???

Mommy Moment ALERT----proceed with caution (eye rolling, possibly gagging  over the top proud momma spilling her excitement...read with warning.)
My ULITMATE obsessions are Pookies FIVE First Place Ribbons, yes I am bragging on my child. She competited at the Ft. Worth Stock Show against 28 other horses of all ages (plus other classes) and she WON, WON, WON!!! It's a big show, it was an amazing day and anyone who says winning isn't everything or you should play for fun - SUCK IT!!! Winning is SUPER FUN, and Pookie works SO hard and practices and practices and practices, she plays, practices and works to win... so IT IS FUN!!!  I'm beyond proud she amazes me everytime she she heads into the arena. I do not have the courage to do some of the things she does with those horses. Again I am so proud! Congrats Pookie. She'll be doing it all over again in less than 10 days in San Antoino and then again in at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo (where she will also barrel race...it's always been her dream to barrel race at The Houston Rodeo, she's competed there several times with her show horses).

Have a Fabulous week....LOVE all around,
Tikaa

Valentine's Day Card IDEAS

$

0

Valentine's Day is next week and we will not be doing anything romantic. I'm honestly not into the whole romance thing, unless it's wrapped in a brown box with the words - Louis Vuitton, that would be totally romantic (shocking also). Throw rose petals on my white bed and I might freak out! Okay, I did freak out (on the inside), red rose petals can stain white bedding.
Nothing is like it seems in the movies. Save the rose petals, sweet but messy.

Any who, this Valentine's Day we will be spending the holiday of fat babies with arrows at the San Antonio stock show, where Pookie will be doing her thing with her horses. Totally fine with me, she loves those horses and we love her, it's a win, win!  All I need is one of those fat babies to shoot her horses with an arrow carrying a blue ribbon.

Since Valentine's Day is fast approaching I thought it would be fun and make more sense if we (The Judge and I, I haven't brought this up to him yet.) made our own cards for one another. Trust me, there is not a card out there that could say it better. Plus I hate those cards, you know the ones...I love you, you are the light of my life, what a miracle it was that I met you, Happy Valentine's Day. PUKE!!!!! Of course you love your spouse, lets be creative, funny and honest people.

Some possible ideas for cards:

I'm Awesome, You're welcome - Happy Valentine's Day

I can't believe I'm not sick of you yet - Happy Valentine's Day

I'd share the last Diet Coke with you...only a sip. Happy Valentine's Day

I love you more than a poke in the eye.

Tonight's the night...you get to do the dishes! Happy Valentine's Day to me!

This Valentine's Day I'm going to give you what you really want... bot-ox!

When you snore now, I only want to to put the pillow over your face half the time. The other half of the time it's when you fart in your sleep.
That's gotta be love, Happy Valentine's Day.

You look so good Naked...10 years ago.  Happy Valentine's Day

I wouldn't trade you for a box of puppies...Your housebroke!

You're my favorite husband.

Love is weird...so are we.

I would donate my non-essential organs to you - Happy Valentines Day

love you...most of the time

Let's spice things up...you cook! Happy Valentine's Day

We go together like cowboy boots and high heels...both are shoes, right! Happy Valentine's Day

From the moment I saw you I knew - we could irritate each other for life.

you're sweet... occasionally

We go together like: (pick one)
camping and head lice
golf clubs and lightening
snickers bars and a fat ass
a toothless man and moonshine
honey boo boo and sub titles
patron and limes
rednecks and NASCAR
Lance Armstrong and Performance-Enhancing Drugs
Kim Kardashian and Attention
Oprah and Gale
meat and cheese
kittens and youtube videos

Make a funny card for your Valentine, step out of the traditional box and be silly.

Happy Valentine's Day,
Tikaa

Happy Swap

Some of you may be asking what that might be, it's not new and Hopsy (Monograms and Manicures Blog)  at www.kappaprep.com started doing her Pink Swap about three years ago I believe. I contacted her and she was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO sweet and said she totally didn't mind if I did a swap too (Love her)! Check out her pink swap on her blog, it's precious.

So what's a swap, if you choose to sign up, I'll match up everyone with a partner and each will spend $35 (does NOT including shipping) on fun Happies and send them to the other person. Hopsy does a pink swap and all the happies you send are to be pink (how fun). So I thought about it and thought about it then I emailed another blogger, Lili at www.swanky-chic-fete.blogspot.com and asked her opinion on theme ideas for my swap. We both liked the following for possible themes: plaid, monogram and polka dots.

I loved all the themes we talked about and many, many, many other things and couldn't decide on just one theme! So why not send a box full of all my favs?!  Who doesn't love to see the UPS man walking up the drive carrying a box?

To join my 1st Happy Swap leave a comment with your email address in it. I will pair you up with another girly girl. Then it's time to shop.
Spend $35 (does NOT include shipping)on happies you either love or would love to have: stationary, jewels, pens, napkins, lip gloss,  scarf, etc... Anything that would make YOU happy to open. Everyone should ship there box on or before March 9th (my birthday).

Remember to leave a comment with your name and email to enter the swap (this is not a chain letter type deal, you will send one package to your partner and your partner will send you a package). Hopefully everyone will share pictures of their Happy Swaps on instagram (hashtag #totallytikaa) and I will of course share pics here.

1st HAPPY SWAP

Join the fun and happies with another girly girl. LEAVE your name and email to join us.
Can't wait.

Orange and blue, plaid and polka dots...

It's been busy around here, it's show season (horse)and Pookie has been showing her horses (Louis and Prada) a ton! Next week we will be at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where Pookie will show and ride.
any whOOOOOOOOOOOO...
It's been a while (unless you follow me on Instagram, then you've seen these pics) since I posted my OOTD (outfit of the day) on my blog.

Here it goes:
Navy blue sweater and striped Target scarf, turquoise skinny jeans, Talbot's leopard belt (which I wear all the time), cap toed shoes that I made (did a post about it) and Consuela tote full of notes, and computer and Kate Spade green and white polka dote phone case, and I carried my Louis Vuitton Raspail GM.

This was an outfit I wore to Dallas Market. I'm loving it!
I can not remember where or when I bought the python pants (I've had them a while), denim shirt, black blazer, black Tory Burch Reva's, Louis Vuitton Odeon Pm (cross body), Michele watch, JCrew pave link bracelet, JCrew gold link bracelet, gold and silver elephant hair.

Arm candy: tortoise square bangles, tortoise link bracelet, gold and silver hair hair bracelet and Michele watch.

I'm not a huge yellow fan, but I thought this embroidered daschund yellow and navy pants by Tommy Hilfiger were precious. I paired them up with a Tommy Hilfiger ruffle plaid button up, which I also wore a white button up under (it was cold and I liked the look). I topped it all off with a navy puffy monogrammed vest. The gold cap toed shoes are ones I made from a ten dollar pair of Payless flats. The jewelry is a vintage jade bracelet, David Yurman bracelet, Michele watch and a Pearl necklace made by a friend (Ruby).

This was a tribute to Shahs of Sunset (totally addicted to that show). The Shahs love their GOLD...and so do I! The Sally Hanson Salon Effects nail stickers in gold glitter is my new favorite and very pretty. The first two nails I did, I wanted to throw the box in the trash, after the third finger it got easier and easier. It takes me about 15 minutes to do all my fingers with ease! No drying time and last about 10-12 days. LOVE that stuff.

More arm candy: JCrew gold bracelet with pave heart charms, JCrew pave link bracelet and turquoise and bone hinged bracelet.

This is the most comfortable and soft coat from JCP (I am sure I'll be wear it this weekend). The polka dot scarf was $5 from Wal-mart and I had my monogram added to it in turquoise. I was carrying the Louis Vuitton Saumur GM (cross body) and it was a ponytail kind of day.

I just noticed that in one picture my skinny jeans look turquoise and the other picture they look blue. They are turquoise, I wore them with a long sleeve gray t-shirt, pink puffy vest and bright multi colored scarf. Threw on some arm candy and had a Happy Valentines day.

I am completely obsessed with this new JCrew flower necklace. It is actually orange and a bright orange I might add. There is a tiny rhinestone in the middle of each flower. I fell in love with pairing my new favorite necklace and my green and white polka dot cardigan from Target. I wore a basic dark denim skinny jeans with a  white tank under the cardigan. I love the orange and green combo.

Tuesday night we went to the Houston Rodeo to see Gary Allan and I found the belt buckle and ring from a vendor there. They are both made out of broken china, handmade and adorable. I couldn't wait to wear them, so I did (the next day) with orange and white polka dot jeans (Macy's), simple sweater and bright blue scarf.  Orange and blue!
I promise I do not wear a pony tail everyday.

Oops this should have gone before the last one. This is what I wore to the Houston Rodeo to meet and greet Gary Allan. Under my turquoise cowboy boots were the pink and gray polka dot socks to keep my toes warm. Crazy as it sounds I wore a black turtleneck, with a green and white polka dot blazer and Burberry scarf. That's a mouth full. It was a fun night and great concert. The cross body bag is one from Two Bar West, all leather with fringe under the flap and studs on the side, it is the softest bag.

Being that it is show season and we have 9 horse, many days my real life requires boots (heels are usually waiting in the car for a quick change). This picture we were headed to a horse shoe and it was chilly, so once again out came the turquoise boots, Khaki jacket, Burberry scarf, gold headband, love knot earrings (that I lost at the horse show, boo hoo). I carried my Louis Vuitton backpack (perfect for travel).

This was Thursdays Outfit Of The Day. It was the day of our garden clubs big flower show, so I thought the pink pants were a must.  Black and white polka dot top is from Target, basic pink skinny jeans, Talbot's leopard print belt, black cap toed shoes (which I made). The necklace is JCrew, Flower Lattice (and a gift from The Judge), it's pretty big so simple diamond stud earrings were a must.

After looking at all this pictures, I am definitely wearing my hair down today. Looks like I wear a pony tail everyday. Hope my OOTD inspire you.

What's your favor look??

ROUND TOP ANTIQUE SHOW
*TIME TO SHOP*

Sorry, I know I've been a bad, bad, bad blogger, but in my defense my children come first and life has been full of horse shows and rodeo's (Pookie is now headed to the World Championship----WoooHOOOOOOO), baseball tournaments, spring break, golf tournaments, dog surgeries (Rupert almost lost an eye), and all the other stuff we mom's do.
I thought everything was back on schedule and things were off and running smooth again, then this morning my son calls from school and says, "Mom I have your car key in my pocket."
NICE!
Oh welllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll the earth is still spinning, I am not in a pressing need for the key and all will be figured out.  Only one small problem...Round Top has STARTED!!!!!
If you haven't been to the Round Top Antique Show (which happens every spring and fall) in Texas or even if you have, you can check out ALL the details at www.roundtop.org

Spring 2013 Round Top

$

Twice a year trucks and trailers come rolling into town full of all kinds of fabulous goodies. So many wonderful things fill up pasture after pasture, tent after tent and barn after barn. There is no way to see it all in one day, and even if you could the energy in the air will pull you back like a magnet. I can't decide if it's the people, or the excitement of what incredible "thing" I may find, and sometimes I think it's as simple as being outside and walking in the sun (or rain) but each spring and fall I get more excited than a child at Christmas.

For the past eight or nine days (I've lost count) I've been heading out to Round Top/Warrenton,TX and soaking up all the goodness! You will literally see it ALL during the show.
One of the first trailers I came across this season was this one full of white dishes. Most incredible part was that nothing was over $3! Which was extremely helpful, since the first pieces I bought fell out of my car and broke!

This is pretty much the scene throughout Round Top/Warrenton...pastures full of treasures.

Every time I see these letters I want to rearrange them. I resist but it's getting harder and harder because they are everywhere you turn.

This was a quick pic at the Junk Gypsy tent. Those are some adorable ladies, and what a treasure to have in our area.

Need drops for your chandy, there's a whole booth full of beautiful chandy's and crystal drops in any and every color. I have not stopped thinking about these turquoise drops since I took this picture. hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, that might be a sign.

Another quick pic from the Junk Gypsy's tent. I kind of like the federal eagle.

A HUGE high five to these guys (and girls), these globe pendant lights where so cute I was redecorating Little Einsteins room in my head just so I could buy them. I'm a sucker for a globe.

Couldn't pass up taking a picture of the original "reading room"

Silver serving dome, uhhhhh YES PLEASE!

My mom's collection of Staffordshire dogs is pretty impressive, but I don't think she has this one! What a deal $55 and 20% off. #Madeinengland

I think I hit this spot every single trip I make to Round Top, there space is always clean, organized, full of beautiful pieces and great prices on everything.

I wasn't kidding when I said you can find every thing during the antique show...even plants, or alligator rugs (promise I saw one). What a precious idea, planting succulents in little teacups, old jewelry boxes and sugar and creamers. LOVE IT!!!! I'm pretty sure I'd manage to kill even a succulent, but I'm gonna give it a try.

Candles!

I kind of like this display, I like to pretend I'm photographer (me and my Canon Rebel and iPhone, hahaha). I suck at photography, which probably has everyone reading this shaking their head in agreement. Oh well, I like the old cameras and metal boxes.

Not a great pic, but I get a lot of questions of where I get my Mexican tops and dresses, well the answer is HERE. Karen and Clint's booth is located at The Arbors and they have a brand new sign this year that you can see from the road. Look for the sign - THE MEXICAN SHIRT PLACE, it's made out of metal letters that light up. It would be hard to miss mixed in with all the white tents of The Arbors.

These fun ladies are (from left to right): Me, Julie, Cortne (blogger of CocoinMagnolia) and Teal Dawn (no kidding). They were fun, fun, fun.  Cortne and I were basically were on a blate (blogger date), we have been instagram friends for a while and she has been stalking me (her words) in a sweet way for about two years. She could not have been any more adorable...and oh goodness was she soooooooooooooooooo tiny. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh jealous much...YES!

One of my Round Top OOTD, basic jeans, navy and white polka dot top and green and white polka dot jacket with a pink scarf and my fun embroidered converse.  The whole polka dot on polka dot kind of made me dizzy. I like prints and polka dots, but I might draw the line on polka dot on top of polka dots. You can't tell in the above picture but I had the converse on with my dress too! Tennies or boots are a Round Top must.

More beauties from The Arbors...that MIRROR!

This bed can be found at Texas Rose, what creativity and beauty. Above the bed is a rusty old springs from a mattress with lampshades of all shapes and sizes. The bedding is all solid colors of white, ivory and cream topped off with a fabric headboard. It's over the top and really stops you in your tracks. The owner of this great space was someone I could totally connect with. Cortne and I had a great talk with her, she was enjoying it so much I thought she might follow us to the car and hop in.

This picture does not do this chandy justice and I am headed back to it as soon as the rain lightens up. It's a NEED for over my breakfast table.

More fun ladies that came out and shopped with me. From left to right: Tammy, Me, and Patty
Okay Tammy and Patty look great, I look "special" in that big pink king chair.

I should have put this pic by the bed, this was across from it! You can kind of see the bed in the mirror. I have a thing for shells ( I know what you are all thinking...I have a thing for everything). I should have taken a pic of my shell boxes.

SOLD! Not to me, but some lucky lady was taking these amazing doors home.

OK, so looking at this horse in the picture it kind of looks deformed. It was made of leather and not nearly as freaky looking in person. I promise. Can you guess if I brought it home?!?!?!

Viva La Mexico. Pinkies tent has the most eclectic mix of treasures you may find.  Most is not my style, but I will admit to finding a few fun pieces at Pinkies.

I haven't had a moment to clean any of my Round Top treats yet so use your imagination. This was a gift my mom, and I am so happy to finally have a beautiful silver tea set of my own. Thanks mom.

It's no surprise to anyone reading that my number one addiction is silver serving pieces of all kinds. So when I came across these sterling poultry shears I knew they would be perfect for cutting flowers. Because where I am from the chicken comes cut up already.

My Pinkie's purchase...candles.

More silver.

Found these fun bags at The Mexican Shirt Place. The navy and white one will be perfect for pool side. I couldn't pass on the green and black, Little Einstein's baseball team colors.

Surprise....more silver (bowls).

I was so happy when I found this horse head, and couldn't wait to show Pookie.
Her reaction..."it looks creepy."
It's not creepy and will now be hung in any other room in our home besides Pookies. I may hang it in her bathroom, just to mess with her.

I'd love to say last picture of silver but there's one more. Thank goodness Pookie doesn't mind polishing silver.

These are probably the best deal I have come across so far. Fourteen bone handle knives for fourteen dollars. These would look great at the ranch.

I know, I know...everyone is gagging over the silver.
I have a problem and I am not willing to join a twelve step program yet. I found one of these little cups last fall and today I came across another one! Cute little scalloped edge, three little feet...perfect little candy dish. I have been using the one I found last fall for M&M's for The Judge, so in our house it's the M&M dish. Today I was INFORMED it was a wine tasting cup. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmm, NO it's a M&M dish and I do not need to taste wine...HELLO I know it taste yummy, fill my glass UP.

I  know you are all shocked, it's not a picture of silver. During the two plus weeks, twice a year (spring and fall), I spend a  lot of time out at Round Top/Warrenton and get zero complaints from my family. They totally get I love going out and "doing my thing" and I love when Little Einstein comes along (The Judge and Pookie would rather hang out with the horses). To keep everyone in smiles I usually try to bring back a bag of fresh popped Kettle Korn. WOW, as I typed that it really hit me at how easy to please they are. Love them!!!!

Round Top/Warrenton Antique Show is going to through this coming weekend. I wouldn't recommend coming out Sunday, everyone is fast packing up and heading out. For more details, times, maps, etc... check out
www.roundtop.org

People I'd like to Throat Punch

$
0
0
Yes I have a list of people I'd like to Throat Punch...don't you???? It's not like I really would, I really want to, but of course I can't.  I can make a list and get a good laugh out of it.

People I want to Throat Punch:

* all the ladies I had to spend the afternoon with a week or so ago. I also now want to burn all my designer bags because of these same women.   Wear a LV with and a Target outfit and I couldn't agree more, wear an LV bag with rhinestone cowgirl flip flops and guns a blazing t-shirt and I want to rip the LV bag out of your hand as if I was rescuing it.

* Pookie's principal...please, please, please, stop talking to me...I am not listening. If  it's not about Pookie then lets move along, stop holding up car line.

* the umpire at most baseball games.

* the neighbors cat.

* anyone who works at the AT&T, Apple or Best Buy retail stores. I LOVE my Ipad but would rather be throat punched than go to the Apple, AT&T or Best Buy store.

* the mailman, but only when he shoves a package the size of a watermelon in my mailbox because he didn't want to bring it to the door.

* the makers of Game of Thrones! You suck and should be throat punched for making us wait so long in between seasons.

* the woman in our town who wears her name badge EVERY where she goes. I bet she sleeps in it. Actually I shouldn't pick on her, maybe it's a reminder. I've seen her at parties with it on.

*the waitress who ask me if diet Pepsi is ok.

* the next person who tells me how lucky I am to live in the country.

* the lady at the MAC counter when she tells me they are out of Cultured lip gloss.

*the woman in our tiny town who makes voodoo dolls out of hair and drinks chicken blood. No, she doesn't really drink chicken blood.

* the woman who was talking shit about halter horses in front of Pookie and she know that Pookie has two.

* Kim Kardashian

* the person who said I should move to the city if I didn't like country life...WOW I never thought about that!

* the woman who recently tried to explain to me why I should give bar be que a another try. This was very difficult to leave alone. I promise I almost looked at her and asked if she'd give shit another try.

* the maker of Rainbow Loom. Thank you for this heaping pile of mess! Rubber bands everywhere.

* the man at Lowe's who told me to ask my husband if the mailbox post I wanted to order was ok. Throat punch was really not what I wanted to do to him, I really wanted to tell him "I asked my husband and he said I could not only order the post but I could shove it up your ass too."  I didn't!!!!!! Take a deep breath...

*  Tori Spelling...I actually love her, but OMG four children and look that great.

* the woman who asked me what Lilly Pulitzer was (I should have asked her if she lived in a cave.)

* the driver that almost hit Little Einstein and ruined his bike and then DIDN'T buy him a new bike. THIS person really should be Throat Punched!!!!

* the mom on our baseball team who sold ZERO fundraiser tickets. Thank you for your support.

* tom cruise

* anyone who ask to join my card group - four years, four women...enough said.

* the checker at HEB who ask what I'm going to do with "that"   -I did answer her "take it home"

I am being silly, I have never throat punched anyone, obviously I've day dreamed about it.
Who do you want to throat punch???????? don't say me, that's a given.

My Strange Addiction

I've always been a girl in love with pink, flowers, polka dots...a very girlie girl. My workroom is pink as well as my closet. I almost always pick out pink nail polish and my lip gloss is always a shade of pink. I always hear that line in Steel Magnolia's "my wedding is a shade of blush and bashful." In other words Pink and Pink. Love THAT!!!
Recently I saw some beautiful Lilly Pulitzer bracelets and immediate went to check out the diameter of the opening ( I have man hands), sadly after reading I knew they would not fit. Boo Hoo! Nothing new, so I forgot about the bracelets...until I remembered I had some unfinished wooden bangle bracelets at home that did fit me! After some YouTube research and computer time, I decided to attempt making my own  Lilly Pulitzer inspired bracelets. I purchased some Mod Podge (YouTube told me to), gathered paper with designs I love, scissors, paint brush, and sat down to attempt using Mod Podge (decoupaging agent) for the first time.
WOW, I couldn't believe the beautiful results...I went Mod Podge crazy and made at least seven bracelets that first night. Then I think I wore them the next four days straight. I was so pleased with my handy work...let me be honest and say that generally I set off super excited about a little project and the result ends up in the trash can. I can not sew, I have not generally been good with crafty things and Pinterest makes me crazy. If you get what I'm saying then you can appreciate how excited I was that my Lilly inspired bracelets turned out so pretty.
The experience with Mod Podge was so much fun and the result was making me beyond giddy, that I think I created a my new strange addiction. It's no secret I drink more diet coke than most normal people...so naturally my cooler needed to be lillyified.

I think it took me a couple of hours, but it's so pretty!!!!! Pink, green and blue, flowers and I am HAPPY, not to mention it will be filled with diet coke.

I practiced on a cooler I had already. Kind of looks like the handles on backwards!

I mentioned before that my workroom is pink, This tissue box cover is going to look so cute in it. I tried the mirror for fun to see how difficult it would be or if it would even turn out. It wasn't hard but it was time consuming, overall the result is precious. I would definitely make again for my daughters friends (gifts) or anyone who asked really.

Once again I thought...why not! I pulled out this tray I had tucked away, grabbed my papers, mod podge and scissors. This is one of my favorites. A collage of Lilly patterns. I can't wait to decide where I going to use it.

Here's what started it all. The bracelets!!!!
You can make your own too:
find a bracelet that fits, paper you like, purchase some ModPodge and paintbrush.
1. Measure around the width of the bracelet.
2. Cut your paper in pieces you feel comfortable working with.
3. Brush Mod Podge on back of paper (not the print or pattern side) and wrap around bracelet. Continued till bracelet is covered.
4. Apply Mod Podge to entire bracelet, let dry. Repeat three more times. I would suggest finishing it with a few coats of sealer (clear poly, one that says NO yellowing on can).

Tell me what you have Mod Podged???

Well come on in, to the gallery at least... That's my friend Sharon welcoming twenty four sweet women into the gallery to gather, socialize, and lunch all in the name of fundraising.  Sharon was actually yelling at me, "Don't take my picture." Then I reminded her..."it's for a good cause."

As each guest arrived they were treated to a Pink Peony (pink crystal light. sprite zero and vodka) made by the clever Karen. They turned out to be dangerously delicious.
That's Karen and she's an amazing cook and even better bartender. I swear every time I'm with Karen I am NEVER surprised at the life story she may share with me. She has done it all, seen it all and had a great time along the way. To say she is an interesting woman is putting it lightly.

Once you had your drink and made your way past Karen and Sharon, six tables of four were set up all the way down the gallery path. The roses were from the Antique Rose Emporium, and smelled as beautiful as they looked. We did a simple container with a small thank you note attached and offered them to our guest when they departed as a little country party favor.

Another view of the tables and some of the homeowners interesting and beautiful collections.

Light horderves before our meal.

A chilled Avocado and Cucumber soup shooter.

Sharon's (the woman in the first picture) boots, she's an amazing artist who can paint ANYTHING.  She painted those boots. Need a pair? She can paint anything on a pair of boots and does. Need her information, email me. She has a pair of boots for me but I can't decide what to have her paint...polka dots, gators, pink and green flowers, maybe blue ribbons (grand champion/remember Pookie and her horses). Any suggestions?

I love that elephant painting and those five woman are pretty special too...thanks ladies for supporting the Luke and Rachel Batten Foundation (learn more at www.lrbf.org)

PLEASE save the emails, I obvisiously know what some readers may think about it. I live in TEXAS the sterotypes are TRUE.

Three more generous women. Thanks again for your support.

Thank goodness I didn't have to use that stove...I made have needed a special degree.
I know you wanted it...a closer look.
The minute I saw a gray cloud in the distant sky I'd hit those stairs and run for the cellar...it is amazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzeBALLS!

The view from the opposite end of the gallery. How memorizing would it be to have such a space in your own backyard.
P.S. The gallery is not attached to the main house.

More socializing and snacking. I should have wore a hat. I love hats! What a great idea for next years luncheon...
Same room as the above picture, different view. Ginger's bright orange tunic (right corner) was gorgeous!!!

Before anyone starts sending me emails/comments about how cruel they think it is to kill animals...DON'T bother. I live in Texas if it's legal we hunt it, stuff it and hang it. For the record we don't care how far we have to travel to find it either. We are what we are...hunting loving, big hair wearing, gun packing, boot scoot'n Texans.
~
God Bless TEXAS.

A little peek at the backyard...this is country living at it's BEST. What you can't see are the horses and long horns behind the fence.

Another hostess and her adorable boots...I did say we live in Texas, in the country and love our boots. Our town is so small we have HONESTLY seen two horses tied up in the WalMart parking lot. SERIOUSLY!

The homeowner has had crazy luck growing these vines. Yep I'm in garden club, have no idea what those beautiful vines are.
View as the last guest is leaving. The day was a great success, all the ladies enjoyed the afternoon and the hostesses all survived. I did get a little busy and forgot to take pictures of the food but I think I'll be forgiven.  We all get a little nutty right before we host a fundraiser, one of my duties as hostess was dessert. I must have gone temporarily goofy, I had to make the dessert FIVE times the night before. Which I guess I should look at it as...I didn't give up. My poor friend Shannon, I wish I would have taken pictures of the gigantic mess we all made in her kitchen the night before. I was literally on my hands and feet cleaning up. Oh well, we all had a great laugh, helped the Batten Foundation and enjoyed the afternoon.

The voice in my head

We all have that voice in our head...our voice. The one that reminds you to pick up the dry cleaning and what to make for dinner. My voice in my head is always full of the most useless information and random thoughts. My voice in my head is generally the lighter side of me the more relaxed version. Out of the blue my voice and thoughts are immediately running across my brain with the stupidest of things:

"I should try that grout cleaning recipe on pinterest."

“Am I suppose to tip the trashmen”

"Why does everything I plant in that urn die...I'm starting to think that's a bad sign."

"Wouldn’t it be great to have an invisible shield pop up every time the children enter the house with their muddy shoes on."

“CRAP I have to cook dinner again tonight.”

"I wonder if they re use my pedicure flip flops when I leave?"

“where did I put my keys”

"why is a Sonic diet coke do addictive...oh wait I know that one - the ice"

"I should have paid more attention to Mr. Rogers when I was a child, he was right ON with the cardigan, everyone loves a cardigan.."

“I should drink more water, I should drink something that has water in it.”

“I wonder what’s new at Target”

“the dog smells”

“where’s my epi pen, I wonder what Martha Stewart is doing, does she need an epi pen?”

“who are you talking to…Jake from State Farm???”

“Like a good neighbor…stay over there.”

I should cut my hair, I should let it grow, why did my phone just make that noise?"

"What do they put in Don Drapper’s hair to make it look that greasy (mad men)?"

"My toes are cold, my feet are ugly, I don’t like this polish."

"I should go to the grocery store, Why are the fruits and veggie by the front door."

"Maybe I should start smoking – wait, WHAT!  NO, no, no…"

"Where am I going...CRAP I forgot to turn."

"If I had to drive in the evacuation lane, I wonder I fast I could drive."

"How many diet coke’s do we have?"

"I wonder if someone could wrap me up like a burrito with my blanket. "

The Original Arm Party

After a long week of field trips and wedding decorating I hung out today reading and catching up on laundry and misc. One of the blogs I adore is  Advanced Style by Ari Seth Cohen. I love that his subjects are all older women and all have incredible personal style. It's beyond refreshing to see women look incredible and not be 20 or 30 and to get a peek at their fashion. I want to see all ages, shapes, races, styles and fashion...who doesn't. While catching up on Advanced Style, I came across this picture.

I immediately stopped in my tracks and gazed at this woman for moments. The amount of confidence spilling out of her completely mesmerized me. Nancy Cunard obviously started the arm party and did so about 85 years ago.  I did a little reading on her life and all I can say is I'll be hitting Amazon as soon as I finishing this to see what I can found on Nancy Cunard.

I had to take a moment and share.

Casual Country Wedding

This past weekend in a the tiny town of Hempstead, Tx (watermelon capitol of Texas/population 4,700) I spend two days decorating for a wedding reception. This project has been going on for about a year and was held at the local Knights of Columbus Hall in Hempstead. The hall (like most reception centers) had rules: nothing attached to the walls or ceiling, etc... EEEEKKKKKKKK no attaching anything to the walls or ceiling!!!!! That was challenging. The bride and groom wanted a casual country wedding and specifically asked for mason jars, muted tones and burlap. UGH, that's not exactly "my thing". I am not a fan of mason jars or burlap, but it's not my day and that's what they wanted so that's what they were going to get. Plus I was going to come up with some thing to help break up all those gigantic white walls.

A before picture.  The solution for the walls, built two "Catina" type rustic structures to add some interest and  appeal.  Next concern was having enough room to seat around 500 guest. They had 450 R.S.V.P.'s plus bridal party and let's not forget all those that don't R.S.V.P.  Pictured is one of the builds that was made a head of time and brought to the hall Friday.

Pictured here is another built for the bar. The Catina as I referred to it. That rolling door REALLY bothered me. Thank goodness in the dark it wasn't that bad. Remember the reception is in a town of 4,700 people, they were expecting 500 guest. There are not many (or any other) choices of places to have your reception with the ability to hold 500.

A few more before pictures, I thought it was a good idea to give you all a good idea of the BEFORE, then the AFTER would be really appreciated. It was a big job.

Yep, those are wagon wheels. Another request they had, so I used them around the stage.

The build at the back of the hall was 14 feet tall. The entry way opening was over 20 feet. The curtains were not part of the hall rental. They had to be made and a separate stand to hold the curtains had to be constructed (remember no attaching anything to the walls or ceilings). The head table was 24 feet long and once completely done had almost 100 mason jars and candles down the center. All the candles on the head table were real burning candles. The guest tables had around 400 battery operated candles mixed in with the flowers, burlap sacks and wooden crates.

Progress, the Catina over the bar was up, the lights were in and on, and the bar tables covered. I forgot to get a picture of the flower arrangements that hung down the front two poles of the Catina.

I loved those candles, I found them in several different sizes and used them on the bar tables, at the bar, and a few other spots in the hall.

The bride wanted mason jars, and she got them! I think I used close to 100 on the head table with candles and sugar (it's a prettier color than sand), and another 300 plus full of flowers on the guest tables. Succulents were used in the bridal bouquet, bridesmaids bouquets, and all the flower arrangements in the hall and on the head table. Guessing I would say over 300 succulents were used. The fabric to cover all the tables, make the curtains and cover the stage weighted over 200 pounds!

I know I said I'm not a fan of mason jars and burlap...but I really liked how it all ended up looking. More importantly the bride and groom loved the end results.

The centerpiece on the head table was HUGE and weighted a ton.

This was the view everyone saw when walking into the hall.

I took so many pictures and then I didn't! I hate when I do that, start off strong with the camera and then set it down for a bit and loose picture taking momentum.
The reception was a hit, everyone was so sweet and complimentary on everything. The bride and groom looked to have a great time as well as all their guest. The next morning they headed to Hawaii and I hit the baseball fields with Little Einstein for a tournament.

I can't wait to see the photographers photos!

Jam Packed June

It's not always easy for me to blog and I promise I'll be better but then life happens and a couple weeks go by and...  Anyway, here's what I've been up to in the last month.

At the beginning of June we took a family vaca and went on a seven day cruise to Jamaica, Grand Cayman and Cozumel. At our stop in Grand Cayman we thought it sounded like BIG fun to snorkel and swim with sting rays. Yes it sounds like fun...until you are actually in the ocean and have to get out of the boat! They were EVERYWHERE, you could barely take a step. Oh I forgot to mention that you can not wear water shoes or flippers when you get into the ocean with the sting rays. They also tell you ahead of time not to jump or flap your hands around, you don't want to scare them. The bonus information that almost kept me in the boat, was that the only predator the sting rays have...HAMMERHEAD SHARKS. It was extremely unnerving at first and slowly, we got use to it. Pookie actually jumped right in, took off her life vest off and dove under to get a better look.  I was seriously grabbing her feet trying to pull her back!
I have several of these pictures...why you ask??? I was checking for Hammerhead SHARKS!

The heart over my face is not because I heart sting rays. It's to hide the terrified look on my face!  The man in the yellow shirt was our guide on our boat, he was trying to  explain that I should kiss the sting ray for good luck.  Holding it was my limit, I couldn't bring myself to kiss it.

That's Pookie trying to help me with mask, I actually like to snorkel. I suck at it, but I like doing it. My mask always leaks and I always end up sucking up water.  Watching me snorkel would be like watching the video on everything you should NOT do.

The vacation was great fun, we rafted in Jamaica and fished in Cozumel.  Fun was had by everyone.

Two days after we arrived home Little Einstein went to baseball camp for four days and then immediately started All-Star practice.

Team picture, praying before the Championship game. All their practicing, hard work and dedication paid off.
Little Einstein  stealing second. He was safe!

For the Championship game, I asked a few moms to pitch in and purchase a few fun items for the boys. Then Ginger and I assembled a treat pack for each boy on the team. We bought six packs of Crush, Root beer and Cherry Limeade and mixed up the packs so that each boy would have a combo of all the drinks. I removed two bottles, and cut the divider out of the carton. Then I added white shredded paper to the area I cut and added: Oreos. sunflower seeds, big league chew, cracker jacks, party snaps, a small baseball and beef jerky (all boy things). I had to add some kind of ribbon, so I went with curly ribbon. The boys loved the treat, they were not impressed with the ribbon. Imagine that!

They WON!!!!! Undefeated to top it off!  Way to go Little Einstein, you played hard!
They got four days of practice off and we have started back and look forward to the sectional tournament starting this Saturday.

While Little Einstein was playing baseball, Pookie had the AJPHA  World Championship to prepare for. We managed to watch baseball and make it to the AJPHA World Championship without missing a moment, we did however miss sleep!.  The above pic is Pookie and Louie walking into the show arena. She loves her horses and works very hard. Looking like NOT kissing that sting ray was the right choice!  Prior to going to the AJPHA show, Pookie won 4H District Grand Champion (her third 4H District Grand Champion win)  her next stop is the 4 H State Horse Show.  Don't be confused, 4H and AJPHA and APHA are all separate shows and associations, clubs, etc...

They looked great!

They ( I say they because Pookie and Louie are a team) won
Reserve World Champion
We had professional pictures made, these are my quick snaps back at the stalls. Pookie received a beautiful belt buckle, jacket, scholarship money, and other prizes for winning. I am so proud of her, she had to earn her way to the AJPHA World Championship and did with tons of dedication and work that she did all on her own.  She has set her goals higher for next year and we will be off to pick up another horse in a couple of weeks (waiting on result  from the vet, which is necessary to get the insurance we need on the horse). She wants world titles in several different English and Western riding events. I feel positive she will  achieve her goals.

Congrats Pookie and Louie!!!!

Every week in June was jammed packed and what kind of month it was. I still can not believe all the excitement we had and are continuing to have.  We spend five days at the lake and back in the swing of baseball and horses. We wouldn't have it any other way.

Snack Box

I posted a picture of our snack box on Instagram a few days ago and got a few questions. Here are the yummy details.
We've had a snack box (just like this one) since Pookie was little and it's carried over with Little Einstein and we still use a snack box. We are constantly heading to baseball practice, the horse trainer, baseball tournaments or horse shows, the pool, the lake, etc.... I grab the box and bring it along. This summer I did change our old box to this pink one (the old one was exactly like this one but was blue) and added the monogram. We can all agree, that even a plastic box looks cuter with a monogram and a bow. The box is about 10 inches tall, 12 inches wide and 8 inches deep. It's not huge. You can probably see that a can of Pringles fits perfectly.

A closer look and yes that is Pirates Booty. I do not put chocolate of any kind in the box. It spends a lot of time in my suburban and we live in Texas...IT'S HOT chocolate would melt. The snacks we tote around change, currently they are loving: Pringles, pirate's booty, cheese crackers, goldfish, Oreos, popcorn, nuts, fruit snacks, protein bars, pretzels and I usually keep a container or two of microwavable mac and cheese.

Not only did I add a vinyl monogram to the front of the box but I added a cute ribbon and elephant hand sanitizer (Bath and Body Works). Makes sense, right...snacks...hand sanitizer.

I do keep a few none edible items in the box like a sharpie. I also have a pairing knife and a pair of pink scissors. All of which has come in handy more than a few times.

A few other none edible items in the box: plastic forks and spoons (sometimes I will run into the grocery store and grab them yogurt on the way to practice or whatever and the spoon comes in handy), trash bag, Ziploc bag, napkins, and towels. I know those five wrappers look like giant tampons but they are NOT.

It's a towel! They are individually wrapped and damp when you open them. They make clean up a breeze! Great part is they are cotton and I wash them later and Pookie takes them to the horse barn for misc.. uses.

The box is from Target (I've seen them at WalMart). I got the vinyl monogram on Etsy and the Elephant hand sanitizer is from Bath & Body Works. I want to add vinyl polka dots  for a little more fun. Be creative and decorate your families snack box with creativity and fill with the yummy goodies of your liking.

Have a great summer (what's left anyway).

Love and Limes,
Tikaa

Collections

Recently I have wanted to change things up in our home, but only a little, nothing major. I have a few collections sitting around and was kind of bothered that they were actually sitting around, so what to do, what to do...hang them on the walls I guess.

I've had this collection of pig cutting boards for a while and they were stored nice and neatly in the cabinet, until the other day. I had a few wire plate hangers around, tried attaching them to the cutting boards. They worked! Oops don't look to close, it looks like fourth little piggy is tilted, and yes that's a phone...I know it's horrible, but I am terrible about keeping up with my cell phone, we have children and I have actually had to call the fire department three times. I know everyone is saying "why doesn't she have a cordless phone" well, we do! I bet right now it is dead! So, yes the phone hanging in my kitchen is yucky, but we know where it is and it works in an emergency (which we have had).

This is in our breakfast room and a small collection of my Mexican Batea's on display (there are more in my kitchen). Any way, I had used these for parties and serving in the past but the colors and the fact that I had so many made them perfect for hanging. Wow I suck at taking pictures.

I know hanging plates on the wall is no new idea, but anyway...my dinning room is a pretty apple green with black and white gingham curtains and seat cushions. Before the walls had very little wall decor, I kept it simple. If you know me, I'm far from simple so I knew it was time to add some of my personality to this room. I've had a stack (or two or three) of vintage plates sitting away in a cabinet. I had been waiting to be inspired (motivated) to use them.

One day on instagram inspiration hit me and hit me HARD. I started following this adorable woman (@ihavethecoolestgoatever) and she had posted a picture of her dinning room and plate wall. I was HOOKED! I immediately got out my hoard of plates, E6000 glue and large paper clips and went to work. I did have to make a trip or two in search of more plates. Ignore the cabinet to the left (it's leaving) and when I am finished the ENTIRE wall (including over the door and the other side) will be covered. It is definitely making a statement, hopefully not one that screams "granny's house"

This is the start of the other side of the door.  When it's complete I'll share a photo.

I have had questions on how I hung my plates, this is it: E6000 (glue, available at Walmart, Hobby Lobby), and large paper clip, apply glue to plate and paperclip. Let dry overnight, hang!

What girl doesn't like pretty tea towels? I hated only having a few out a time and hiding the others away in a drawer. Solution...hang three towel bars and filler her up!

Here's another example of my mad photography skills. This is our library which is kind of a dark room (not a lot of natural lighting). I have collections, yes, but silver is my addiction! I have tons, all shapes and sizes and even though I use it almost daily there are many pieces just hanging out in a cabinet. I hate having "things" that I don't use or get to enjoy, so while I was motivated I grabbed the E6000 and paperclips once again. I only hung pieces that I wasn't using much and are on the smaller side. I can not wait to see this wall finished!!! The walls are a pretty yellow and the silver is much brighter and polished than it appears in this awesommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmme pic.

I haven't hung these yet, but I have attached the super technical  hanging device and plan to get my turtle shell collection hung soon!

I've always said that your home (especially my home) should reflect your personality, that visitors should be able to get a feel for the family. I think our home reflects our likes, interest and activities but like every one's home, it's a work in progress. No one's home is ever really finished.

Good luck on displaying your collections.

Gift Ideas

With the season of all things pumpkin favored arriving, it puts me in the mood to start holiday shopping. I love to shop online for gifts, I am generally a planner and like to get things done ahead of time (generally, not always).  With the holiday season fast approaching I thought I'd list a few of this years go to gifts (for me anyway).

I'm not sure about the rest of you, but geeeeeeee the men in my family (and friends) are HARD to buy for. So when I came across a men's toiletry bag from Marley Lilly that was fun, masculine, monogrammed and under $35 dollars I knew that was a keeper! Plus who doesn't LOVE to do a little online shopping at Marley Lilly!!!!!! They have some great gift ideas for men.  This bag comes in the shotgun shells, fly fishing, marlin and a golf theme.

Also from Marley Lilly and totally great for anyone (men or women) is this great duffel. It come in three different sizes and someone I know will definitely be getting this duffel. It's around $100, the other sizes are less. www.marleylilly.com

Don't flip out, not everything on my list is this pricey but I had to share this tote. It's from www.laplates.com and starts at $195. You do get to pick out every detail, the tote color, the trim color, etc... Mine is exactly like the photo ( I love green...pink too). It's white seersucker with green pique trim and monogram, and covered with a clear plastic material on the outside and inside, which keeps it spotless. Turn around time is about 4 weeks. Order early for Christmas.

Another adorable gift from LaPlate are their monogrammed (or personalized) plates. I know monogrammed plates are not new, but lets me honest who wouldn't like one or four?
I fell in love with these personalized gold bar necklaces. I love how simple they are, they would make a great gift for any woman! Even if your not entirely sure of her jewelry style, I think this necklace would work. If she's more simple, done! If she likes statement pieces, it's simple enough to be layered. You can find this gem on Etsy, the shop name is: MomentusNY and for a deal at $45. I'd love two, one with Pookie and the other with Little Einstein. I'm thinking about ordering my daughter one with her new horse's name. So many possibilities!!!!!

For the tech lover on your list, a great looking ipad case. Super fashionable and fabulous, all for $59 and what girl wouldn't love it! Found on Etsy (shop:annechoive).

I usually do not buy friends or family clothes  for a gift but I will buy a cute pair of pj's or a robe. When I came across this pretty turquoise floral robe for $35 on Etsy (shop:silkandmore) I immediately saved it as a favorite. Add a monogram and it's a perfect gift. They are opening a new direct online site find all their goodies here www.laughingcherries.com

Who doesn't love a cute pair of house slippers, right???? I have given these slippers several, several, several  times. I already have a list of ladies I want to order them for. HOW stinkin cute are they????? I promise that they are not only cute but comfy. You can pick out your bow color, monogram colors, etc...and all for $26!  I totally see all the women in my family wearing these Christmas morning (remember it's always hot here). You can find these totally precious slippers on Etsy (shop:GoodSportDesigns), and they ship quick too!

For the chef on your list, you can order up a salt and pepper mill in any color. I found these again on Etsy (shop:Inspiredtradingco) for under $40.

This the season for parties, and it never hurts to be prepared with a hostess gift. I already have these in mind for several holiday hostesses. These cute little cocktail napkins come in several colors and the monogramming choices are unlimited.Eight napkins with monograming for $45! Once again found on Etsy (shop:MonogramWorks).

I am completely in the gift giving mood, now I need to get in the fall decorating mood and get this house ready for pumpkins.

Five on Friday

I loving reading or looking at the TBT, WCW, MCM, etc....on instagram or Five on Friday on different blogs. So why not give it a try, here it is my first Five on Friday.

This is probably no surprise, it's the "IT" bag of this fall and BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you , Kate Spade it's exactly what I didn't need but can not live without. RIGHT?????? The Kate Spade Beau Bag comes in several color combos and I can not decide which I love the most, but PROMISE as soon as I have more than a minute I am jumping in the car and driving straight to the Kate Spade store in Houston and picking her up. EEEKKKKK if I didn't have a horse show this weekend, I'd be in Houston tomorrow. It's definitely a must have and already a personal favorite.

This might sound strange, but recently I have become addicted to all things fruit and frozen. Especially frozen mango, literally I am eating it straight out of the bag. I fill up a little cup and hit the road, the whole family is hooked. Give it try.

I adore this series but have no idea when it actually airs, I know it's on USA and that I DVR it and watch when I can, I've been watching forever, five seasons now.I am not sure what I adore more about Royal Pains the characters and story line or the fashion. I love, love, love watching to see what Paige and Divya will be wearing and especially which accessories they will be highlighting. I must admit I usually can't wait to see what Evan's going to be wearing.
I am a compulsive list maker, I forget everything unless I write it down. I found the Crane jotter pads a few years back. I have it in pink and green (of course) with personalized papers. Crane still makes them and I think they are around $30-$35. I have given them several times for gifts and use mine everyday. There small slim sizes makes it perfect for fitting in a clutch or wristlet.

I post this vest on instagram the other day (but without a monogram). Walmart has this puffer vest right now for $9.96 in white, navy, pink, purple, turquoise, and black. I bought one for every woman in my extended family and took them straight to be monogrammed (for another ten buck I have a cute Christmas gift for twenty dollars). RUN to Wallies and grab some for gifts. UGH, I bought a white one and black for myself but I may need a pink one.

Have a great weekend. What are some of your favorites??

Five on Friday

This was a long week and full of many different emtions for our family. All I have thought about is getting to a new day or vacation. It's finially friday and raining here which is a true blessing, considering we rarely see rain. I hope everyone's weekend is off to a great start. Now back to the Five on Friday details.

If you follow me on instagram then you've seen a couple of these, like this pic. Which as I type this I realized I may want to take them out of car since we are getting a bunch of rain. They are Lilly Pulitzer inspired car floormats with my initals and look perfectly cheery in my car. I have them in the front and back, the sweet little shop that made them on Etsy also offers only front mats if that fits your needs. Etsy (shop:ShopAddorableAccents)

I did this little DIY the other day, PomPom picks. Thanks to Ashley over at www.FancyAshley.com for the infor. They are adorable and I made a TON for Halloween (orange, purple, green and black) and I couldn't resist making pink ones for any old day. It's easy peazy: toothpicks, pom poms (hobby lobby) and hot glue. Simple and precious.

I am a habitual list maker, I have two extremely busy, active and involved children and a husband who is equal as busy and community involved. List are a must! I would forgot half of what I needed to do without a list. This pink small binder from Target isn't new to the party but I love the pink and gold polka dots and it's full of to do's, list,etc...

Candy Corn  Taffy is my kryptonite! Enough said.

Pretty sure if you rounded up all the chapstick in our home, cars, backpacks, purses, etc... the totals would be well into the 100's. I love fresh sugar lip products but it sucks it you loose a tube of it and I DO! Chap Stick leaves NO sting behind when I've missed placed a tube or ten. I'm really upset that the cake batter flavor is a limited edition and I only have ONE! I loVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVvve it. To be completely honest I pick my lip products on flavor and scent. For the dollar is cost, it's fantastic.

I hope everyone's weekend is of f to a great start and that Saturday and Sunday bring lots of rest, relaxing and fun.
Thanks for stopping by.
